Baldur's Astro

About

I’m Guilhem, a French student at the University of Strasbourg, and astronomy and astrophotography are what I do and teach on vacation when the sky is clear.

It’s patience measured in hours: acquisition, calibration, stacking, stretching. Noise is what makes an image look grainy, and removing it without smearing the details is the hard part. The tools that do it well are expensive. For a student, that price isn’t a detail: it’s the difference between being satisfied with my data and waiting for another clear night.

So I wrote Phos. It does one thing: it removes noise from astrophotography frames. It reads FITS files, runs on its own or through Siril, and it’s free: no account, no license key, no trial that expires on the first clear night in weeks.

Baldur’s Astro isn’t a company. It’s one person, a laptop, and a lot of cloudy nights. If it saves you time, you can support the project on Ko-fi. If it doesn’t, use it anyway.

If you want to reach me directly, write to contact@baldursastro.org.

Clear skies.
